I Had the Best Day...

After 2 really fussy days...Jack and I had the best day!!! We got up...with all smiles!!! He ate a good 5+ ounce bottle...no projectile spit up this time. We got dressed and headed to the mall to hang out with my BFF Libby and her 2 adorable kids!! Jack was such a good boy. Well he slept in the stroller most of the day. We had Starbucks, watched B and E play in the play area, walked around the mall, browsed through a few stores, had lunch and headed home for a bottle and a nap.

2 Months!

2 months old on February 14, 2013

Age: 2 months
Birthday: December 14, 2012
Weight: 11 pounds 13 ounces
Height 23 3/4 inches
Favorites: Jack loves to sing and dance to "The Wheels on the Bus", "If You're Happy and You Know It", "Itsy-Bitsy Spider" and "Patty Cake." We also make up our own songs like "Who's that Baby in the Mirror" and "There was a Jack who had a dog and Mollie was her name-o." His favorite toy is this singing puppy that rattles and lights up.
Size: Clothes- 0-3month, although some of his pants are on the high-water side. Diapers-Size 1
Milestones: Jack smiles all the time. Especially when you change his diaper and sing to him. He's starting to eat 4-5 ounces at each feeding, but this is a slow process. He "talks" back to us all the time. He has started sleeping in his crib. He sleeps from about 10pm to 5am. Then he goes back to sleep after a bottle until 9am. Pretty good start I must say.
Happiest Time: He's the happiest in the mornings. He loves to play and talk!

Big Boy!!!

Friday night we decided to try to put Jack to bed in his crib. He has been sleeping in the Fisher Price Rock and Play Sleeper for 9 weeks now. I thought since I go back to work in 2 weeks :( we should start getting him used to his crib. So Friday night, around 9:15 I feed Jack his bottle, swaddled him and put him in his crib. All by himself in that huge crib!!! He looked so small in there. I turned his nursery rhyme sound machine on, which is awesome because it projects a picture on the ceiling (Thanks Libby!), and cracked the door. I brought the monitor downstairs to watch him while I watched Say Yes to the Dress and blogged.
I was sure I would have to go get him in 5 minutes. Nope! There were a few fusses but he slept in his crib until 2:30am!!! I gave him another bottle, swaddled, and put him back in his crib. He slept until 6:30!! I was so proud of him. Needless to say, Mommy did not sleep. I watched his monitor and Friends until about 1:30 am. But Mister woke up as happy as can be!!! He was ready to watch his Uncle Reedy on Gametracker! Go Hoos!

Last night we tried the crib again. We read some books (Elmo's Valentine, Moo Baa, La La La and Brown Bear) fed him, swaddled him, and put him in his crib around 10pm. He talked to himself until about 10:30 and slept until 5:30am!!!! I'd say we're off to a pretty good start.

Mommy's a little sad not to have him right beside the bed; but I guess he can't sleep next to my bed forever!

Happy Heart Day!!!

Happy Heart Day!! What a perfect way to describe how I feel right now. My heart is just happy!! This little boy just fills my heart with love and happiness. Although my heart is full of happiness right now, our day yesterday didn't quite start that way. At 3am we woke up with not a fussy, sick baby; but a sick puppy! So we got up and took the Girl to the Vet. Miss Mollie has a urinary tract infection. Poor puppy! We got some meds for her and she's feeling much better. Thank goodness...I hate when she is sick!

Since we were up early with Mollie... Jack, Mollie and I took a trip through the drive-thru Starbucks for a little treat for Mommy. Happy Valentine's Day to me. :) Since I'm not pregnant anymore, I can finally drink a Venti! Yay! Nonfat Caramel Latte it is! (and a cinnamon chip scone!...that's it no more sweets until Easter!)  Yum!

The rest of the day was spent with lots of cuddles from Jack. Since it was Valentine's day, a day of cuddling was fine with me.  He had his 2 month appointment on Tuesday and every since then he hasn't let me put him down.

I was so excited to give Jack his first Valentine's Gifts! A few books and the perfect card.

I saw this card and knew it was perfect for Jack. He truly is the sweetest little boy!!
Curtis came home from work and we gave him his gifts, exchanged our gifts, enjoyed a nice take-out dinner from The Cheesecake Factory and ended our night reading the perfect books.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day!!
XOXO

Get the signing papers ready...

As you all know, we're a big baseball family over here. The other day we were playing on the floor, and Jack picked up his ball!!! Yay! I know he's just 8 weeks old, but I think he's on his way to baseball career.

BFFs? Not quite yet...

I've been thinking about blogging for some time now. I love reading DYI blogs, blogs about babies, blogs about fashion, hair, homes, etc. I have plenty of friends who blog, so I thought why not. Now that I have a new baby, I thought it would be a great way to document many of the moments that so many people tell me I will forget. I'm always hearing "write it down or you'll forget." Now that I have "Baby Brain" I know it's totally true. I can't even remember what I ate for lunch.

Why the title "A Beagle and A Little Baby"? Well for 5 wonderful years this sweet face has been our baby.

Meet Mollie!!! She's our sweet 5 year old beagle. For years she's been our little "Mollie Girl." We treat her like our child.  She has quite the personality. She loves to snuggle under a blanket, take walks, eat treats, and try to eat your food. She eats dinner promptly at 3pm. She sleeps in the bed with us, under the covers. I know a bad habit, but when she was a 4lb puppy crying in her crate, all I could do was snuggle her in our bed.  Her favorite thing to do is to lay on top of our love seat and bark at ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that goes near our house. She was quite content until....

We rocked her world with the addition of this sweet face.

This is Jack!!! The "Baby" of "A Beagle and A Little Baby." We welcomed Sweet Baby Jack on December 14th. He has been the best thing that has happened to us. He is the sweetest little boy and the cutest, if I do say so myself! When we brought Jack home from the hospital, I was expecting this instant/protecting bond between him and Mollie. Well that didn't happen. And still hasn't. She does like Jack. She does check on him every now and then and does bark if he cries, but that's about it. She pretty much hangs out in her spot by the window all day. We still cuddle her and give her treats and she still sleeps with us. Earlier this week we put Jack in his crib for one of his naps. Of course that lasted all of 5 minutes. But to our surprise, who was laying outside his door??? Sweet Mollie. :) Yay, we're coming along. I know pretty soon they'll be BFFs!!
