7 Months Old!
7 months old on July 14, 2013
Age: 7 months
Birthday: December 14, 2012
Weight: 18 pounds
Height: Will update later
Favorites: Jack loves his stacking rings and music piano (Thanks Emerson). He's starting to like his Rainforest Jumperoo, that I got for $40 in the Babies R Us clearance section! He LOVEs pears and bananas...major steps in the food department! Loves Elmo's World and Hooplaz Kids Animal Sounds (on youtube). And yes we find ourselves singing these songs alllll the time!
Size: Clothes- 3-6 month or 6 month. A few 9month outfits. Diapers-Size 2 (I think we're ready for 3s)
Milestones: Jack can now hold himself up while standing. He can't quite pull himself up yet, but he's trying. He's trying to move, not really crawl, but just can get his arms and legs to cooperate at the same time. He might just skip the crawling... He's even louder than last month. He's got the "ma ma", "da da" and "ya ya" sounds down. He even sometimes roars like a monster. :) We're practicing waving. He can do it, but it takes him a while to think about it. He can give high fives too :) Still only 2 teeth!!!
Daily Routine: Finally we have a great routine down....and boy does he depend on it. Wakes up at 6:30, bottle around 7. Walk around 8, short nap, and then playtime. Another bottle plus a fruit at 9:30. 10:15 nap. 12-1:30 playtime. 1:30 bottle. 2:00 nap. 4:00 playtime. 5:15 bottle, plus a veggie. 7:45 bath, bottle then bed. He's usually asleep by 8:30.Exciting things this month:
Jack is such a sweet and happy boy and boy does he love his Mommy! He give me hugs around my neck all the time and shows so much love. He loves his Daddy too, but it must be me being home with him more, he's super clingy. This month we've really enjoyed hanging out with LOTS of friends. He loves other kids and babies. It is sooooo much fun watching him interact with other kids.

Adventures in baby food...
Jack has started eating solid foods and let me tell you it did not start off well!
His very first encounter with solid foods was so disappointing. We were so excited! I
couldn't wait to get started. I was sure he was ready...he was eyeing
and grabbing our food all the time. I went out and bought his seat, new bibs, and EVERY SINGLE stage 1 choice they sold. We got the camera ready. And this is the reaction we got. :( Sad mommy here!
We started with apples mixed with oatmeal. It actually didn't start this bad. It took him a few tastes to get to that state.
Not so bad...
a little smile...
not sure...
here come the tears!
After 3 days of apples, we moved to bananas.
Yep same reaction.
We've since tried almost all of the fruits and vegetables. Things have gotten better and he's now used to the texture. Feeding time isn't always happy...we still get some fussing here and there, but it's MUCH better. His favorites so far are peas, sweet potatoes, and pears! Thank goodness he likes something.
Loves his peas (yuck!)

6 Months Old!
6 months old on June 14, 2013
Age: 6 months
Birthday: December 14, 2012
Weight: 16 pounds 10 ounces
Height 27 1/4 inches (guess we measured wrong last month oops)
Favorites: Jack loves Sophie the Giraffe. I think it might be his favorite toy right now. He loves standing up (with assistance). He is constantly moving and stomping his feet. :) He loves sitting up and playing with his toys on the floor. He also loves playing with his feet. He will just play on the floor and talk and try to get his feet. It's so cute!
Size: Clothes- 3-6 month or 6 month. Diapers-Size 2
Milestones: Jack is officially sitting up. He's been sitting up since 5 1/2 months. He is very strong and loves to play while sitting up. He also has officially found his voice. While he has been cooing and "talking" for a while now, it has gotten 100% louder and sillier. He constantly squeals and laughs at the top of his lungs while he plays. It's so funny!!! I think he says "Mommy" ;) We also have 2 teeth!!! One came in the last week of 5 months and the other came in the next week. He is so funny with them. He is constantly sticking his tongue out to feel them and does the "grampa face" as we call it, when he tucks his bottom lip in. We have also started solid foods. He is not a fan. :( I think it's a texture thing or he is just getting used to it. So far his favorite are peas. (Yuck!)
Happiest Time: He still is super happy in the morning. He is also very happy when we are on a walk and when he is playing with his friends.
Playing with his feet.
Talking and getting his piggies. :)
That is one SWEET BOY!!

May turns to June
As I said in my last post, May was so busy for us. After UVA's Baseball Senior Day, we had graduation the next weekend. Crazy that my brother graduated from COLLEGE!!!! Where did the time go? It wasn't the prettiest weather (humid and cloudy) but it was a beautiful graduation. His major got to graduation on the steps of the Rotunda.

Busy May...
Wow was it a busy end of the school year. We had a lot going on and Jack met some BIG milestones. Jack is now officially a sitter. He sits all the time. One of his favorite things to do is sit on the floor an play with his toys all by himself. What a big boy!
I had a wonderful 1st Mother's Day. I woke up to delicious Starbucks coffee and breakfast and beautiful flowers.
We spent the rest of the day in Charlottesville celebrating Senior Day at UVA. I cannot believe my little brother is a senior. He had an awesome season playing 2nd base for the Cavilers and we are so proud of him.
